The business and its search audience
Uplift Content wanted to extend its B2B SaaS content-writing expertise into sustainability, renewable energy, cleantech and related sectors. The client was building a new website and needed a search foundation that could guide the copy before launch. The challenge was to identify commercially relevant language in a specialised market and organise it into pages the agency could realistically develop.
The work we carried out
We worked with Samantha Nobles in 2024 on advanced keyword research and a page-by-page mapping plan. The research considered difficulty, search volume, commercial value and search-result features. Deliverables included keyword assignments, more than 20 content opportunities and guidance for titles, headings, meta descriptions, image descriptions and body copy. The outcome was a ready-to-use planning document, rather than a verified post-launch lead-growth result.
The research behind the 2024 expansion plan
The research covered sustainability reports, renewable-energy content marketing, corporate sustainability communications and specialist copywriting for sustainable brands. The objective was to find commercially relevant terms with manageable competition, then map them to service pages, blog categories and resources as the new website was developed.
The original research sheet recorded “sustainability report” with keyword difficulty 53, 1,800 US monthly searches, a $3.50 cost-per-click figure and traffic potential of 300. “Corporate sustainability report” was recorded at difficulty 31 and $4.00 CPC, with Featured Snippet and People Also Ask opportunities. “Sustainability copywriter” was recorded at difficulty 3 and $1.40 CPC, making it a narrower commercial term worth evaluating.
Those figures are preserved from the earlier keyword-research record. They are not current search-volume readings, visits generated by the client website or proof of campaign revenue. The research also considered global volume, traffic potential, Image Pack visibility and the balance between broader questions and specialised service intent.
Turning keyword ideas into a usable website plan
The keyword map separated three groups. Service-level opportunities included sustainability content writer, renewable-energy copywriting and corporate sustainability report writing. Educational topics included what a sustainability report is, the benefits of publishing one and renewable-energy sustainability trends. A third group considered comparative content around published reports from brands such as Microsoft and Patagonia; these were research topics, not claims that those companies were clients.
The client received page-by-page keyword assignments for the homepage, services, portfolio and blog, together with more than 20 proposed content topics. The accompanying integration guidelines covered titles, meta descriptions, headings, image descriptions and body copy, so the research could inform both the initial build and later publishing decisions.
The deliverable was a practical brief for copywriting and a repeatable content-planning framework tailored to the sustainability expansion. It gave the client a way to prioritise relevant decision-maker searches before launch. The historical project record does not establish which recommendations were subsequently implemented or provide verified post-launch enquiry totals, so the planning achievement remains distinct from those later outcomes.
What the search review reveals
The August 2026 Canadian snapshot records 45 tracked keywords and 22 estimated monthly organic visits.
The original plan separated service-level terms such as sustainability copywriting from educational topics such as explaining sustainability reports. It also considered US and global opportunity. Today’s Canadian search sample surfaces white-paper and lead-magnet content, showing the agency’s existing educational footprint. That smaller regional estimate cannot evaluate the original international strategy on its own or establish whether the sustainability plan was subsequently implemented in full.
A practical next phase
A next-phase review would compare the research plan with the live website and prioritise genuinely relevant service pages before expanding the article library. Sustainability claims should be specific and supported, with examples that reflect the agency’s actual expertise. Tracking suitable enquiry sources across the intended markets would then connect the original keyword planning to measurable demand, while keeping educational readership distinct from prospective client interest.
